Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 17 October 2026
These terms govern your use of the CloakPane app and website. In short: we license CloakPane to you for your own use, it's provided as-is, and you agree to use it lawfully.
1. Agreement
By downloading, installing or using the CloakPane macOS application (the "App") or the website at cloakpane.com (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site.
2. Licence
Subject to these Terms and your payment of any applicable fee, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use CloakPane on Macs you own or control, for your personal or internal business use. We retain all rights not expressly granted.
3. What you may not do
- Copy, redistribute, resell, rent, or sublicense the App or your licence key;
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices; or
- Use the App to break the law or infringe the rights of others.
4. Trial, purchase and licence keys
CloakPane may be offered with a free trial period. After the trial, continued use requires a valid licence obtained through a purchase. Purchases are processed by our third-party payment provider; by purchasing, you also agree to that provider's terms. Licence keys are for your use and must not be shared.
5. Refunds
If CloakPane isn't right for you, contact support@cloakpane.com and we'll work with you in line with our refund policy and the rules of the store or payment provider you bought through. The free trial exists so you can evaluate the App before paying.
6. Updates
We may provide updates, which these Terms also cover. A purchase includes updates for the major version you bought. We are not obligated to provide future major versions under the same licence.
7. Intellectual property
CloakPane, its logo, and all related software and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property to you.
8. Your responsibility
CloakPane is a privacy tool. You are responsible for using it lawfully and in accordance with any policies that apply to you (for example, your employer's or your school's). You are responsible for safeguarding your device and your licence key.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The App and Site are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its capture-protection will work in every possible configuration of hardware, software, or third-party tools.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use CloakPane. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Termination
These Terms apply until terminated. Your licence ends automatically if you breach these Terms. On termination you must stop using and delete the App. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will survive.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located there, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you other rights.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above, and continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
